Recreation, Culture and Parks Master Plan

The City of Niagara Falls is preparing a Recreation, Culture & Parks Master Plan. The Master Plan will help guide the City in providing a broad range of active and healthy choices that engage residents, while positioning Niagara Falls to be environmentally sustainable, culturally vibrant and economically strong.

Through public input and research, the Master Plan will be an actionable strategy that can readily adapt to changes in the community and emerging trends. In concert with other guiding documents (such as the Official Plan, Strategic Priorities and other relevant studies), the Master Plan will assist the City in making strategic investments to ensure a healthy community and improve the quality of life for residents.

The Master Plan will explore topic areas including:

  • Recreation and culture programs;
  • Indoor and outdoor recreation and culture facilities;
  • Parks, open spaces and trails; and
  • Related services, practices and special events.

We recognize that participation in recreation culture and parks activities has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; however, it is important to look at long-term needs through this Master Plan.

Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to complete our survey and help us understand how you use parks, facilities, and services in Niagara Falls! We appreciate it so much, as your feedback will directly help us to improve public spaces and services for future generations.

All prize winners have been contacted. Congratulations!

Stay tuned for next steps and further ways to get involved!

Note: In-person consultation events are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and may be scheduled in the future. In the meantime, input and feedback will be guided by virtual consultation techniques as the Recreation, Culture & Parks Master Plan is developed.
