Ontario Park Playground Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Niagara Falls, ON, October 2, 2017 – The City of Niagara Falls is excited to announce the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Ontario Park Playground. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 5:00 pm at 5300 Ontario Street, Niagara Falls.

Built in 1992, the playground at Ontario Park was identified as one of the oldest playgrounds in the City’s park system. The playground had poor accessibility due to a sand safety surface and was recommended for a complete replacement.

The new playground includes an accessible play structure with artificial turf safety surface, new swings, and seating.

This playground opening is part of “Operation Awesome Playgrounds”, an initiative Mayor Jim Diodati announced at his State of the City Address in March. As part of this initiative, the City’s program to refresh play structures is being accelerated, with 10 parks being replaced in 2017. Ontario Park Playground is the fourth playground to be opened under this exciting initiative! Residents are encouraged to sign up on the City’s online engagement site letstalk.niagarafalls.ca to learn more.
