Do you love living in Niagara Falls? Do you want to participate in shaping its future? Do you want to gain some experience in city planning?

The City of Niagara Falls is preparing a new Official Plan because the city is growing over the next couple of decades.

An Official Plan sets out the future of the city – it sets out things like how land is used, what buildings and streets look like, where parks are located, how natural areas are protected, where transit is located, where the bike and walking trails are, where people can work, and how to attract tourists.

We’d love to hear from teenagers – what do you want your city to look and feel like?

Are you interested in being a ”Youth Ambassador” – someone who can talk to your classmates or friends in your neighbourhood to gather their ideas on the city? We really want to hear what you think about the streets, the parks and green spaces, how you move around the city, where you will go to school and work, and places to shop and hang out.

As a Youth Ambassador, we will provide two hours of special training and workbooks for you to use to collect ideas on the future of Niagara Falls. We are looking for six high school students to help us for a few hours every month from April through August.

This work is eligible to meet your community service hours requirements.
