    Beautification of Roberts Street

by Mark, about 3 years ago

the road use to be groomed by the students from the Botanical Gardens. For the past now 5 years it has been a mess. This is from the transition from the students to a subcontractor or the City taking the responsibility on.. from a vacationers perspective the road looks old and uncared for. It use to be a proud show piece with gifts of  trees from Japan and well kept gardens. It's nothing less than a run down piece of land. When will it look beautiful again? It only needs a large overhaul then regular maintenance. With a landscaping back... Continue reading

Traffic study for Oakwood/McLeod Road intersection

by colhearn, about 3 years ago

    Hello:

I am sure I am not the only person to be frustrated with the flow of traffic at the Oakwood/McLeod Road intersection.North bound traffic on Oakwood is met with a choice of 3 lanes--a left turn, straight and right turn, at McLeod. It usually is the case that the left turn lane is backed up with a dozen or more vehicles, no one in the straight, and of course the right turn lane moves freely. During peak shopping seasons I have seen the left turn backed up to the traffic light at the Walmart plaza. On numerous occasions I... Continue reading

A Blog of Events and Business Openings

by pammcdonaldpam, over 3 years ago

i would like to see an online blog that tells current events and business openings or special events all in one place.  I feel like i have missed out on several special things because I don't hear about them until after they have happened.  If we had one place to look up "what's on in Niagara this week" in terms of things at the Scotiabank centre, the casinos, local restaurant specials, movie theatres, fireman's park, city special events, new businesses that are opening in town, and other special events, it would be fabulous!

    Imagine Neighbourhood on Kalar RD

by satwant, over 3 years ago

Imagine Neighbourhood on Kalar RD, between Brown rd and McLoad Rd. There are about 400+ homes in that area. No bus service from there to Niagara Square Mall. We have to walk 3-4 KM to get to the Mall to catch a bus to somewhere else. We have a lot of students in these homes that go to Niagara collage in Welland. So to catch a bus to Collage they have to first walk 3-4 KM to Niagara Square Mall. On top of that there are no sidewalks or Lights on Kalar Rd. so when the students are walking back... FINES

by Annmarie, over 3 years ago

How about a $500.00 fine for littering.  I've seen people throw out their garbage (fast food) from their cars.  And there is garbage everywhere!  We need to take better care and control of our environment.  People need to be accountable for their actions.  And not to mention the smokers butting their cigarette's on the ground rather than using the butt trash.  We should have anti-cigarette-litter campaigns.  Cigarette butts are not just litter but are toxic waste and is harmful when disposed of improperly.

More Light In the Falls Area

by zzineg1962, over 3 years ago

I work in Hotel Industry.  The Most complain I get from guests is no bright light in the Falls.  It is dangerous to cross the street some cars drive fast and they do not see because it is dark. More bright light is needed.

    Mount Carmel Subdivision

by ziziann, over 3 years ago

The Mount Carmel subdivision in Niagara Falls is a beautiful place to live. There is one minor problem. The Mount Carmel entrances all have the brick wall and the slab that says "Mount Carmel" on it. Some of these brick walls are detiororating and it doesn't make it look nice. The entrance on Montrose Road and Cameron Court is the worst. The Brick is really chipping and someone tryed to patch it up but they didn't do a good job. Also the entrance Kalar Road has problems with the wall on the right missing bricks. All you would need to... Continue reading

    Connect bike lanes

by M. Bay, over 3 years ago

We have several bike lanes, but many of them don't connect to each other. For example, there is a bike lane on Mountain Rd, but it does not connect to the one on Stanley Ave or the one on the Niagara Parkway. I think people would use their bikes more if there were direct paths between the existing bike lanes. Having to ride on the road where cars are driving by at 60 km/h is discouraging for beginner and intermediate cyclists, but a bike lane helps them feel safer.

    North End Commercial Development

by Ty, over 3 years ago

Please encourage commercial development in the North End. Over the last few years, we've lost several stores/establishments to the South End areas (most South of McLeod and West of Kalar).

Having to drive (or take a bus) all the way across the city is not very useful or easy for some of us that live in Stamford or the Mountain/Dorchester Rd areas. Especially, if you need to take a bus and it takes over an hour and 2 to 3 buses to get anywhere south of Lundy's Lane. This could be made somewhat easier if the transit route for the...
