Love My Neighbourhood Program
Love My Neighbourhood is a new initiative to help build a more vibrant, connected Niagara Falls. It is an opportunity for neighbours to come together to celebrate what's special about their neighbourhood.
City staff will organize celebrations at three selected neighbourhood parks with the assistance of neighbourhood volunteers.
Nominate Your Neighbourhood
To nominate your neighbourhood and local park to be the site of a celebration, complete the Love My Neighbourhood form. Simply tell us what you love about your neighbourhood and why it should be selected for a celebration. Then collect signatures from ten of your neighbours who will help with set up, hosting and clean up the date of your event and who will help spread the word about the event in your neighbourhood.
Neighbourhood Celebration
The celebration will involve music, food, activities, and a movie night for your entire neighbourhood! This is a chance to activate your neighbourhood, meet or reacquaint yourselves with your neighbours, and leave a legacy in your local park to celebrate Canada 150. You can choose from a list of the following projects for your park:
Pollinator Garden
Little Free Library
Bird or Bat Houses
Nature Learning Panels
Tree Planting
If you don't see a legacy project from the list that appeals to you, we encourage you to come up with your own idea, provided it fits our criteria and budget.
Events and projects will take place between August 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017. The deadline to nominate your neighbourhood is July 20, 2017.
