Project Overview

The City of Niagara Falls and, through their consultant Associated Engineering (Ont). Ltd. (Associated), has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for a new stormwater collection system(s) and outlet(s) to facilitate the sewer separation and urbanization of the Hodgson Subdivision, including Wanless Street and Belmont Avenue. The solution will also include stormwater collection for the future widening of Kalar Road from Lundy’s Lane to Beaverdams Road.

In accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association’s (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, this Study is being planned as a Schedule B. The Study process includes public and stakeholder consultation, development and evaluation of alternatives, an assessment of the impact of the proposed improvements, and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.

Your Voice Matters

Public and stakeholder consultation is a key element of the MCEA process, and input is invited to inform the planning and design of this project. Comments received from the public will be considered in the development and evaluation of alternatives and preparation of the Project File Report.

A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held in the upcoming months to offer an opportunity to review the Study alternatives and provide input into the MCEA process.
