Learn about upgrades to your neighbourhood park
The City of Niagara Falls is excited to announce plans to improve various park playgrounds as part of its ongoing Playground Improvement Program. These enhancements are crucial to upgrading the quality of play experiences and ensuring accessibility for all.
The following parks will undergo significant upgrades:
- Crimson Neighbourhood Park: Playground Replacement
- F.H. Leslie Park: Swing Area Replacement
- Robert F. Keighan Neighbourhood Park: Playground Replacement
The scope of work will involve removing existing playground equipment and playspace areas and constructing new artificial turf play surface areas equipped with accessible playground equipment. These improvements aim to create safer, more engaging, and more accessible spaces for children and families.
In addition to the playground upgrades, there may be site-specific enhancements, including new park furnishings, paved pathway sections, and tree planting to beautify these community spaces further.
At F.H. Leslie Park, the current swings and swing area will be replaced, ensuring that the play area meets modern safety and accessibility standards.
These improvements are part of the City’s Asset Management Strategy to address aging playgrounds and enhance the overall quality of the play environment for all residents.
Construction
Construction is set to commence in September 2025 and is expected to be completed in the fall. To ensure public safety, some areas of the parks will be fenced off and will remain inaccessible until the project is finished. The site work is anticipated to take approximately four to six weeks.
The City appreciates your cooperation during this period. Thank you!
